MacPractice MD, DC updates
Parallel updates for two editions of MacPractice should become available in the near future, according to the software's namesake developer. MacPractice MD, aimed at general practice doctors, and MacPractice DC, aimed at chiropractors, are both being updated to v3.6 within the next few months, joining the MacPractice DDS dentistry edition of the software.
The updated software should include the new AutoRemind component, which sends automatic appointment notices to patients via phone, e-mail or text messaging. The Imaging component has been enhanced with touches such as a new interface, and the Server companion software has been altered to prepare for Mac OS X Snow Leopard. MD in particular is being given a new e-prescription function, expected to go into certification later in March.
Both MD and DC require Mac OS X Leopard, along with a minimum 10GB of space on client Macs.
