REALbasic 2009 Release 1

REAL Software has launched REALbasic 2009 Release 1, the newest version of its cross-platform development tool for software creation. The latest update focuses on product quality and reliability, and provides 27 new features and 100 hundred improvements. Some of the additional features in the 2009 release include a new Quickstart window to help first-time users begin developing software, and changes to the "folderitem" that allows loading and saving of 32-bit pictures with masks.

Other new features in the update include changes to the status bar that enables it to show constructor parameters, enhancements to the font size capabilities in the language reference window, and the ability to enter bug reports from the bug report dialog box located in the help menu.

REAL software has also released a new affiliate program which enables developers to promote REALbasic 2009 Release 1. The program allows affiliates to advertise REALbasic on their website, and according to the company, will receive a commission for each new licence sale generated from the promotion.

The program comes in two different versions, a Personal Edition priced at $100, and a Professional Edition which costs $500. REALbasic is available for download and comes with a free 30-day trial.
