Minor MB, MB Pro updates
Without calling attention away from new desktops, Apple has also provided minor updates to its notebook computers. The top-end version of the 15-inch MacBook Pro is now equipped with a 2.66GHz processor by default, instead of 2.53GHz. The 17-inch Pro continues to come standard with a 2.66GHz processor of its own, but like the updated 15-inch system, now has the option for a 2.93GHz chip for an extra $300. The base 15-inch Pro is unchanged with no new processor options.
A 256GB SSD drive, previously available only for the 17-inch Pro, has meanwhile been added as an option for 15-inch Pros and any version of the basic unibody MacBook. Prices vary considerably depending on the speed of a system; while adding the drive to a 2.66GHz Pro costs $750, the price rises to $825 for a 2.4GHz Pro or basic MacBook. Upgrading a 2GHz MacBook costs $900.

That they will give the 15" the same "Choose your display" as with the 17". =(

market has spoken

The market has spoken on this issue, and matte fans lost.
Matte will be an option for high-end pro monitors ONLY.
Really, this is such a non-issue for most people. Adjust your lighting (slightly) and get on with your lives already.

Um, since when does Apple make choices based on the market. Their choices are made based on their own design and marketing decisions.
If the market spoke, Macs would be 25% cheaper, and there'd be a lot more options, rather than "15 inch screen equals $2000".

What everyone means, is that Apple listens to the market only when its ideas won't completely and utterly ruin its business model.
Apple can't sell a computer for 25% less, it would put them out of business.
But remember who the average person is. You can sell the average person on a Mac, with a glossy screen.
"Oh, my god, the screen looks so awesome, it's everything I've ever dreamed, I want one.
I deal with these people everyday, and everyday knowing that these people use a Mac steals some of my soul.
