Livescribe Mac Desktop 1.0
After a two-week delay for some fine-tuning, Livescribe Desktop for Mac 1.0 is now available for the company's Pulse Smartpen. The desktop client has been in beta testing since November and the final version adds a few extra features including the ability to download content from Livescribe Online and archiving support.
The Pulse Smartpen records handwritten text and drawings, along with the ambient audio, and then links the information for later reference. For example, a user taking notes at a lecture can later tap on a particular section of the text and hear the corresponding sound from the time the note was taken. The Desktop client transfers the material to a user's Mac for viewing, archiving and sharing.
Also new from the beta version is the ability to reposition zoomed-in pages, print a range of notebook pages, rename smartpens and notebooks, or delete replay recordings from the desktop and smartpen. The addition of Livescribe Online gives users access to a large selection of user-created content including art, blogs, how-to demonstrations and more.
Livescribe Desktop for Mac 1.0 is available as a free download for Pulse Smartpen owners, and requires an Intel Mac with OS X 10.5.5 or higher.
