Yazsoft has produced an update to Speed Download, its download manager for the Mac. The program mainly ensures that downloads are organized and auto-resumed; also incorporated into the app are encrypted FTP and file-sharing clients, as well as an RSS reader. Users can further connect directly to remote iDisk and WebDAV accounts.
Version 5.1.2 of Speed Download provides compatibility and optimizations for the recently-released Safari 4 beta, along with more general tweaks and bug fixes. Also new is support for GRX files, and improved compatibility with YouTube content. The app runs on Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later, and costs $25 in a standard license.
