LG Versa detachable touch phone at Verizon

LG Versa at Verizon

Verizon this morning made another attempt at the touchscreen phone market by launching the LG Versa. The handset also known as the VX9600 tries to stand out from its close competition by letting users choose either greater control or a smaller size: while the phone normally has a leather-like case with a built-in QWERTY keyboard and an external OLED for call notifications, owners can detach just the core touchscreen phone and keep the phone small while using an onscreen keyboard.

Beyond the convertible design, LG supplies a 3-inch, 480x240 touch display with a 3D interface partly related to the KM900 Arena that supplies multiple home screens, a full HTML browser with Flash and accelerometer support for apps that recognize landscape mode. A 2-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, 3G data over EVDO and GPS support through Verizon's VZ Navigator all complete the feature set.

Verizon considers the Versa a premium device and will sell it for $200 after a $50 rebate and signing a two-year plan. Sales start March 1st.

    MacNN vs Electronista

    Why is this artivle from Electronista, which has nothing to do with the Mac, also on the front page of MacNN?

    Why have separate posts if you cross-post every damn article?

    Yeah, it doesn't make much sense. I frequent Electronista, but not MacNN...at least Electronista doesn't get all the MacNN posts, LOL.

    cool phone

    Well, i love the phone firmware, i mean love it!, i wish they can update the voyager to it. i do want the phone, problem is i can't upgrade till may, but i still have to pay two year contract price.
    The only thing this i m seeing that will bother me is;

    i will probably keep the text pad on all the time, but when i want to take it off, i also have to have the plate with me in order to do that.

    share your opinion at http://www.LG-Versa.org looking forward for your inputs.
