iPhone apps: FilmScope, Voodude, Moon Blocks

  • FilmScope Worldwide ($10) provides film enthusiasts with international box office results and expanded film information. Fans can search for films with the "Smart Type" feature, which allows users to quickly look for movies by actor, director or title. The application also features a calendar tool which provides a schedule of upcoming film releases, and a "Top Films" section that shows the top films of all time based on genre, rating or release year.

  • Voodude ($1) lets users create and manipulate their own personal, portable Voodoo doll on an iPhone or iPod Touch. Users can use any photo for the head of the doll and then use the accelerometer and touch screen to shake, poke, burn and toss the doll.

  • Moon Blocks ($1) is a sliding puzzle game that features board layouts ranging from 2x3 up to 5x7. The game comes with dozens of built in puzzles and also allows users to create their own using images from their Photo Library. Each puzzle is also timed and a high score board is created for each puzzle with the five fastest times.

  • Snake XT ($2) is a new version of the old-time classic game Snake. The game features two different modes of play, Arcade and Challenge. The Arcade mode offers 28 levels of increasing difficulty while in the Challenge mode players must see how long they can last in a playing field that slowly shrinks.

  • myPixelArt ($1) allows users to create colorful art by adding "pegs" to a canvas. Users can choose from an array of colors for create patterns, images, or words. The finished artwork can then be saved and uploaded to an online gallery or shared via email.
