Epson G5000 projector

Epson on Monday launched its newest projector, the business presentation-oriented PowerLite G5000. The G5000 is meant for easy installation in boardrooms and schools and has a 1024x768 resolution suited to their PCs. The lens is centered, and there is both 40-degree vertical and 20-degree horizontal keystone correction, while a Quick Corner adjustment tool lets users adjust each corner to fit the image on the screen. To further customize the size and location of the image, users can take advantage of the 1.8x optical zoom lens and 30-degree tilt adjustment.

The G5000 is based on 3LCD and provides 4,000 lumens of brightness with a contrast ratio of 1,000:1. There is an Ethernet connection that allows users to control the G5000 remotely via network-connected computers, or display images from connected devices that include touch-panel screen and multiple-content devices. A closed captioning decoder is built-in to allow hearing impaired viewers.

Maintenance is eased thanks to the one-touch filter replacement, with the lamp accessed by a side door, letting users change it without uninstalling the projector. Lamp life is rated at 2,000 hours in high-power mode, or 3,000 hours in low-power mode.

The Epson PowerLite G5000 should already be available and is priced at $2,499.
