Traktor Pro 1.1 update
Native Instruments has released the v1.1 update to Traktor Pro, its high-end DJ production software. The app supplies four decks, and lets DJs control a performance through the internal mixer or more practical external hardware. Users also have access to an effects suite, and tools for functions like track browsing and tempo sync.
A major new feature of v1.1 is the Advanced Relative Mode, which eliminates sticker drift, and lets CD-based DJs use a deck's built-in loop, cue and search functions. The update further incorporates 14-bit MIDI support, and the Z-Plane Elastique 2.1 timestretching algorithm, which is said to improve keylock audio quality. A new Setup Wizard simplifies hardware connection; some other additions include Synchro Start and a manual clock.
Traktor Pro costs $230, and requires Mac OS X 10.4. It is available in a hardware bundle called Traktor Scratch Pro, priced at $670.
