Fx3 stand-alone debugger
Absoft has announced its Fx3 debugger now available as a stand-alone application for Fortran developers on the Mac OS X. Previously bundled as part of Absoft’s Pro Fortran program, Fx3 provides a command line interface that offers analysis and control during the debugging process on the Mac or Linux. The Fx3 debugger as a stand-alone is still compatible with Absoft Pro Fortran and Intel Fortran Compilers, Apple C and GNU C compilers, and assembly language. In addition, Fx3 can work in both 32- and 64-bit executables and is multi-processor aware.
Fx3 features several managing and tracking abilities that enable users to view any mixed source and assembly, to keep track of variables and expressions, and to automatically track the current stack frame. The program also offers both standard and extensive debugging capabilities that range from function evaluation and signal handling, to support for multiple interfaces and control over the language interpreter.
Fx3 Works with Mac OS X Intel and comes in a variety of prices starting at $900 per commercial single-machine licence, or $675 for an academic single-machine licence.
