Forerunner for Mac
Garmin has announced that its Forerunner 405 and Forerunner 50 GPS watches can now upload fitness records onto Mac systems. The new ANT Agent software is used in conjunction with the USB ANT stick to transfer information to the computer. The data can also be uploaded to the Garmin Connect web-based portal that offers tools for performance analysis, progress monitoring and sharing results with others members.
The ANT Agent requires an Intel-based Mac running OS 10.4.11 or higher and a USB port. The company is working on adding support for PowerPC systems.
Future versions of the software will allow users to update device software and the GPS chipset. The developers are also planning to add the ability to send workouts and courses to the Forerunner 405 from Training Center and Garmin Connect.
