MacBook SMC Update 1.3

Apple has posted a new firmware update for MacBooks, SMC Update 1.3. The code is specifically limited to the latest white plastic MacBook, which is distinguished by features such as a faster GeForce 9400M graphics chipset. The upgrade can also be applied only to systems running Mac OS X 10.5.6 or later.

MacBook SMC firmware has been updated to v1.38f5, introducing what Apple describes as "overall system stability and performance" improvements. Among these is a reduction in unusually long start-up times, sometimes produced when booting a MacBook from the internal battery. The update is a 557KB download.

I knew that Apple had made significant advances in battery technology but this is one that I hadn't heard of!
