Android HTC Magic coming

The previously spotted Android-powered G2 handset is coming to the UK's Vodafone carrier under maker's HTC brand and known as the Magic, BGR has found. The handset is due to improve upon the original T-Mobile G1 with the addition of the Cupcake updates and drops the physical QWERTY keyboard in favor of a virtual one on its touchscreen.

It will retain the 3.2-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi access and GPS sensor, along with access to high-speed HSPA data networks.

There is no indication of an official launch for the HTC Magic, though Mobile World Congress is currently ongoing and the CTIA expo date is nearing, with the launch expected at either of these shows. As per a previous report, HTC is due to launch a second Android-powered handset in April of this year. US wireless provider T-Mobile has announced more Android-powered handsets will be on offer later this year, with a version of the HTC Magic possibly among them rebadged as the G2.

    Apple

should learn from its mistakes with the MacOS and license the iPhone OS out, it is clearly surperior but how long can it hang on if the Android OS catches on?

I have an iPhone3G and I am super happy with it, after using WM this is a heaven.

I do not know if I will change in the near future, but when I change, could be for a new Apple Device, or for an Android device, or something in the linux family. iPhone have OSX and OSX is Unix BSD. So I am very happy for having a growing Linux/Unix market with alternatives to the terrific and bad Windows Mobile systems...

    Go Go Google!!! :-)
