Mathematica 7 Home Edition
Wolfram Research has released Mathematica 7 Home Edition, the latest version of its computation and visualization software. The company has taken features from the professional-level program, with functions that can be used for astronomy, stock market analysis, image manipulation and a variety of educational purposes for age groups ranging from preschool to college. The software can also be used for casual tasks such as creating art, designing buildings or even decorating Easter eggs.
The software provides symbolic and numeric computational capabilities, with access to data from scientific, geographic, financial and other fields. Users can configure chart presentations or other graphics options, or build custom interfaces to create interactive applications.
Mathematica 7 Home Edition can be used with Mac, Linux or 32-bit Windows systems, and can be purchased directly from the company for $300.
