Protection Pack Silicone offers MacBook protection

Protection Pack Silicone

Marware has launched its latest product for Mac protection and comfort, the Protection Pack Silicone. The pack is designed for the new aluminum-unibody MacBook, MackBook Air, and MackBook Pro notebooks. Two silicone squares are used to protect the wrist areas from scratches caused by items such as jewelery and watches, in addition to providing a softer feel. A clear, thin film is provided for the trackpad to help minimize oil marks, dirt and scratches, without interfering with control.

Protection Pack Silicone also comes with a multipurpose microfiber keyboard-cloth that can be used to prevent dirt and oil transfer from the keys to the display. The cloth can also safely clean the screen or exterior of the Mac.

The pack is available in an aluminum color and can be purchased for $25.

    Not worth it this time

I am a huge Marware fan and have used their previous product like this for past MBPs that I have owned.
I installed this iteration a few nights ago and have lived with it since. Gotta say I’m less than impressed. The surface of the pads are now slightly more tacky then older version which means it catches dust, hair, dead skin cells, crumbs and lint way easier and DOESN’T LET IT GO! So sad. Also, the included trackpad protector that is included actually interferes with “double-tap” if you prefer that method of click instead of physically clicking the pad itself.

Overall rating….2.5 out of 5 stars. I wish they would go back to their old formula, which was softer, installed cleaner and less prone to dust.

    Not worth

I bought this cover for my new Macbook Pro 13 inch. It work well but pasting each pad on each side of the wrist area look ugly. I am looking forward for the whole piece cut out to fit the whole wrist rest. I end up getting matching MacBook Pro wrist rest protector skins from SkinStyler. The brushed metal design make my MacBook Pro stand out from crowd and sure it does protect my MacBook Pro from scratches. Much thinner and better than what marware offered. Just my 2 cents.
