Canto ships Cumulus 7.6.1
Canto has released Canto Cumulus 7.6.1, adding over 130 improvements and fixes to the digital asset management software. Cumulus now can send automated e-mail notifications category assignments are changed, providing improved project-management tracking. Metadata support has been upgraded to include Microsoft's Visio files, while InDesign CS4 is also supported via a new plug-in. Version 7.6.1 adds Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) capability and brings Cumulus web-client features closer to Mac and Windows native clients.
The new version also features updates that will help with the transition to the planned Cumulus 8.0 release expected later in 2009. Version 7.6.1 is considered the final update in the 7 series.
The cross-platform software is geared towards managing, organizing and providing easy searches of a company's digital files, working with multiple formats in large numbers. Users can manage images, layouts, presentations, videos, documents and audio files. Cumulus requires Mac OS X 10.4 or higher and QuickTime 7 or later. Prices are available by contacting the company.
