Undercover 3 adds support for Wi-Fi positioning

updated 04:15 pm EST, Tue January 27, 2009

Undercover 3

Orbicule has announced the latest version of its theft recovery software, Undercover 3. The update features integration with Skyhook Wireless for obtaining Wi-Fi positioning data. In the event that a Mac is stolen, the software will automatically transmit screenshots from the missing computer. iSight images are also uploaded, potentially uncovering the thief's identity. The program can be used to simulate a hardware failure that could lead the device back to an Apple Store for repair, where it can be recovered.

Undercover 3 is now available directly from the company, with prices starting at $50 for a single-user license.
