    Come on already OKCupid

Where is OKCupid's iPhone app? Us users have been asking for it for a year or so. The best and most technologically advanced dating site has no iPhone app. DUMB!!!!

    Hot or Not?

Hmmm... I can see two uses for this:
    - teenagers using it to insult each other. "Ha ha! I took a picture of Mary-Beth and uploaded it - look everyone how everyone voted her NOT hot!"
    - people with low self esteem that need to be superficially judged by total strangers to "prove" their self-worth

    Re: Hot or Not?

Well, I can think of more. You can start a game with friends, who can get the most "hot" or "not" votes.

And I think its a dating service too, so it can help people meet the 'high-maintenance' types who need/want that type of "You're hot!" attention.

Oh, and for your second item, people with low self esteem that need to be superficially judged by total strangers to "prove" their self-worth

I wouldn't say they have low self-esteem. Those with low self-esteem wouldn't put their pictures on the site, as they would assume they'd get lots of "NOT!" votes.

I think it would be more those with no self-worth. Or maybe self-respect.

    Another great ice breaker

Another cute iPhone app for those in the dating world is Rate-My-Date. It shows a beating heart (your "date pulse") that can be made faster or slower with a slider at the bottom of the screen. When the heart beats, a "bleep" sound like an EKG plays, and if the dates goes sour, it turns into a flat line with the famous monotone warning sound from various hospital shows. This thing is a great ice breaker and gets a laugh every time.
