  • Currency Assistant 3.0 ($19) allows users to convert values between 174 world currencies (all major circulating currencies plus the 16 Eurozone legacy currencies). The software also automatically updates exchange rates over the Internet using the rates published by the European Central Bank, the Bank of Canada, the International Monetary Fund, and the Bank of Italy. In the latest release the software has been rewritten as a Universal Cocoa application, the currency conversion calculator has a fully revised interface and introduces several other new features.   • Backup Monitor 1.0 (free) is a small application that can be set up to either power off a Mac or activate sleep mode after a Time Machine backup is complete. The main window of the application shows details on the status of Time Machine and features a checkbox which can be used to enable the post backup shutdown. [Download - 3.3MB]

  • EarthDesk 4.6 ($25) replaces the static desktop with an image of the Earth showing current sun, moon and city illumination, as well as real-time global cloud coverage. The application includes political, enhanced satellite and natural maps that can be zoomed at rate of 50% up to 400%. Version 4.6 increases the natural map detail by 25% making for better images at high zoom-levels. [Download - 7.5MB]

  • Xmart Volume 1.3 ($5) is a utility that can automatically lower the volume of headphones when someone talks near the users computer. The application monitors a Mac's built-in microphone for sound in the surrounding area and attempts to distinguish between the environment sound and speech. The applications sensitivity can be adjusted for louder environments to help prevent unneeded volume reductions. [Download - 1MB]

  • iWorkServices Trojan Removal Tool 1.0 (free) is a tool that can remove the iWorkServices Trojan from infected Macs. The trojan comes bundled with pirated copies of Apple's iWork 09 and installs a hidden program with full access rights to the target computer. [Download - 0.35MB]
