Axiom Pro Series Keyboards

M-Audio has announced Axiom Pro Series Keyboards, its latest series of USB MIDI keyboard controllers designed for professional musicians. Building off of M-Audio's previous line of USB MIDI Keyboards, the Pro series offers more enhancements for realistic play and comes in three different key models, 25, 49, and 61. The Axiom Pro provides software integration to digital audio workstations such as Pro Tools, Cubase, Logic and Reason. Also, the M-Audios HyperControl technology automatically maps keyboard controls to commonly accessed parameters in software instruments and DAWs.

For syncing purposes, a two-way constant link with the host DAW is offered to keep the device synced with software's active parameters. Toggle capabilities are available between the mixer and instrumental control modes to help simplify the creation process. In addition, the Axiom Pro Combines both MIDI control with ASCII keystrokes to enable the assigning of buttons in order to send QWERTY key command like cut/paste, or undo, directly to the host software.

The keyboards are compatible with Mac OS X 10.4.9 or later; the Axiom Pro 49 is available now for $600; the 61 model costs $700 and is expected to ship within the first quarter, while the 25 model has yet to be given a price or release date.
