Midway debuts five games
Midway has announced that five games from the TouchMaster series, including Spellwinder, Dice King, Prismatix, Combo 11 and Carpet, will be coming to the iPhone and iPod touch. Spellwinder is a word search game that requires players to use adjacent letters to make a word in any direction, without using the same letter twice. Dice King allows users to swap two adjacent dice in an attempt to form matching combinations of three or more dice. The goal of the game is to match the dice below with the combination displayed on the top portion of the screen.
Prismatix is a hexagonal matching game with a wheel that shows a color sequence that users have to match in any direction to eliminate some gems. As more gems are cleared, the wheel will shuffle and rotate based on the number of gems used.
Combo 11 provides a deck of cards, with face cards removed, to enable the player to make sets of 11. Every time cards are eliminated, users can press a button to add the available cards to the field. When no moves remain, a "jumble" ability can be used to mix up the cards.
The Carpet game differs slightly from the classic solitaire game, requiring players to move all cards onto the spot where the aces have already been dealt. To win the game, all cards on the Carpet must be moved to the aces spot, ordered upwards by suit. For example, the number two goes over top of the Ace. Any gaps left behind by moved cards are filled with cards from the waste pile.
The games should be available by the end of January on the App Store, with each game individually priced at $1. The TouchMaster Volume 1 bundle will include all five titles for $4.
