Satimage updates Smile 3.4
Satimage software has announced the latest update to its data visualization and automation software, Smile 3.4. The program allows users to initiate data processing tasks, visualize information in a variety of forms, and extract data from files. Version 3.4 adds the ability to copy, paste and resize graphic views, or browse data files located in the same folder from a single plot. For data processing, performance of both the "evalformula" and "particles" commands has been improved.
The update also features copy and paste items in the text menu, while the "relativeURL" command now accepts a list as its direct parameter, and the "image info for" command will return more information than the previous version. The graph dialogs and scripting menus will now be displayed in the action menu, in addition to other interface improvements and bug fixes.
Smile 3.4 requires Mac OS X 10.5 or later and is available for $450, including a single-user license, and the academic license is priced at $300. The company is currently offering a free student-license that will expire at the end of June, while standard users can also try the software for two months without charge.
