T-Mobile Austria slashes pricing on iPhone 3G

Austrian iPhone price cut

The Austrian division of T-Mobile has cut pricing on the iPhone 3G, the company's website reveals. The 8GB version of the phone now costs just €1 when paired with a €45 monthly subscription. Under the same subscription terms, phone pricing was previously set at €99.

T-Mobile is additionally waiving subscription fees for the first month, and offering a €45 discount for online orders. The deal is mostly notable, however, for being the first such dropping of the iPhone 3G's price, which may herald similar cuts around the globe. Analysts have worried that the ongoing global recession may harm iPhone shipments, since the smartphone is largely seen as a luxury item.

AUSTRIA is a country in central Europe.

AUSTRALIA is a continent in the Southern Hemisphere.

Despite being clearly spelled in the original article, it appears that this is hard to tell apart for 'mericans.

At least the rest of the world has a more complete and comprehensive understanding of geography.

Making generaliSations about a person based upon only a few words is thought to be a bad thing. And pretty stupid.

Not really a price cut

just clever marketing...

Orange Austria has had a deal going since before Christmas that puts the cost of purchasing and getting a comparable 3GB/mo. 2 yr. contract package as the €1 deal that T-Mobile just introduced for approx. €935. The same package with T-Mobile comes in at €1125 for the same deal.

So where's the price cut?
