In brief: Future Sonics has announced that new models of the Atrio earphones are shipping and that visitors to its booth at NAMM will be able to receive free ear impressions. Canvastic has announced that it will be continuing to search for technology leaders among school districts and those that meet a list of criteria will receive licenses for Canvastic 3.5. Freeverse has submitted a new racing game to the App Store and in anticipation of its launch a tutorial for using the included track editor has been posted.
Future Sonics has announced that it is now shipping the Atrio earphones in a new Earth Beige and Ruby Red model. Additionally, the company has announced that it will continue supporting hearing conservation and education by teaming with Kathy Peck and H.E.A.R. (Hearing Education and Awareness for Rockers), to offer free ear impressions with the order of any Future Sonics custom-fit product at booth #2005 during the 2009 Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA.
Canvastic has announced that it will be continuing to search for school districts that are technology leaders nationwide. These Districts will be awarded licenses of Canvastic version 3.5 valued from $10K to $200K or more. The company will make the award to any district that meets the qualification criteria, which are as follows:
1. School District must have 20 or more schools.
2. School District must agree to install Canvastic in a timely manner.
3. School District must want to move their younger students beyond using "edutainment" programs or professional office suites for productivity to a real "tool-for-school" publishing application.
4. School District must support the gift by supporting their school level technology leaders during the installation and initial use of the program.
5. School District should issue a press release to the local media documenting the gift.
Freeverse has released a new tutorial video (below) detailing how to use the in-game track editor for their upcoming iPhone game, SlotZ Racer (which has been submitted to the App Store for review: the developers hope it will be approved soon). The game is a 3 slot car racer that lets players play against computers or friends. Up to four players can compete on one iPhone in several different race modes. The game also includes unlockable new circuits, cars, track locations, a track-editor and championship challenges.
