BOSS unveils new floor processor, tuners

updated 04:30 pm EST, Thu January 15, 2009

BOSS at NAMM '09

Demoing at this year's NAMM show in Anaheim, BOSS has announced several new products, beginning with the ME-70 guitar processor. The device is a floor model related to the ME-50, and is said to feature a new Preamp section, a fourth footswitch, and a COSM engine based on the GT-10 processor. The 70 additionally sports an EZ Tone feature for simpler editing, and a 38-second Phrase Loop option within the Delay section.

The company's remaining new entries consist of tuners, such as the TU-1000, a professional-level tuner with high-intensity LEDs, meant to be visible from a stage floor. The TU-12EX is a chromatic tuner for regular and bass guitars, while the TU-12BW supports brass and wind intruments. The TU-88, lastly, is a tuner, monitor and metronome with a built-in headphone amplifier.

The tuners should begin shipping in "early" 2009; no date has been set for the ME-70.
