AmpliTube Fender debuts
Following an imposed media blackout, IK Multimedia has announced AmpliTube Fender, its newest audio gear simulator for guitar players. The software reproduces some 45 pieces of Fender hardware, including 12 amps, 12 cabinets, nine microphones, six stomp and six rack effects. Users can assemble two different rigs with up to 32 simultaneous effects, and operate the app solo or as an AU, VST or RTAS plug-in.
IK has also revealed the StealthPedal, a new interface controller for guitars. The device is shaped like a wah-wah pedal, and controls any piece of MIDI software, including IK's own AmpliTube 2. Power is supplied via its USB connection, and it supports recording at up to 48kHz, using 24-bit A/D or D/A conversion. Two Hi-Z/line level inputs are provided, along with two outputs and a headphone jack.
The StealthPedal is on sale for $270, and includes copies of X-Gear, AmpliTube 2 Live and Riffworks T4. AmpliTube Fender costs $230 in its regular version, but is also available in a scaled-back version included with the $140 AmpliTube Fender Studio bundle. The bundle also packs X-Gear, Riffworks T4 and a StealthPlug cable.
