updated 04:15 pm EST, Wed January 14, 2009

NRGship Mac Lite announced

NRG Software has announced NRGship Mac Lite, bringing the UPS shipping software to the Mac platform. Users can ship items directly from Address Book, and while the application is geared towards small businesses that ship five to 10 packages per day, it does not have a formal limit. It makes use of UPS Online Tools including Tracking, Shipping, Rates and Service Selection, Time in Transit and Address Validation.

The software prints on thermal or laser printer labels, and can add personalized messages. It supports MYOB, the Yahoo! Store, 3Dcart and others, and can use AppleScript to automate information imports or exporting tracking info.

Requirements have not been listed for NRGship Mac Lite, but pricing is set at $300 for a single user or $1,000 for a site license, with a $36 per month subscription for UPS services. There is a 20 percent discount for paying a year in advance on the subscription fees. The software is expected to arrive in the first quarter of 2009.
