"Swiss Army Knife" features 32GB flash, Bluetooth

updated 06:50 am EST, Sun January 11, 2009

Victorinox Bluetooth tool

First-time CES exhibitor Victorinox Swiss Army has debuted its latest gadget, the Presentation Pro, featuring up to 32GB of storage that is protected by 256-bit hardware encryption and an integrated fingerprint scanner for authentication. The gadget also offers Bluetooth connectivity and two buttons for navigating slide-shows, along with a laser pointer for highlighting specific areas. The company also includes several of its standard tools including a knife, nail file, screwdriver, scissors and a key ring.

The device supports both AES and DES encryption standards, while the Bluetooth control is claimed to offer range of 100 feet. Software is included for management, backup, Outlook sync and access control.

Customers can choose from 8GB, 16GB or 32GB storage capacities, with prices ranging from $170 to $335. A Flight variant will also be available, but without the scissors or knife that would violate TSA carry-on regulations.

    Why have a knife

Why have a knife without the knife. I mean what does that become a Swiss Army USB key?

    Any problems....

... getting through security checkpoints with a knife in your pocket? I can see that as a real downside for frequent flyers.
