Asus CES introductions

At CES this week, Asus introduced two new tablet netbooks, the Eee PC T91 and T101H, and several full-size notebooks including the M90GF and W90Vp. The Eee PC T91 features an 8.9-inch touchscreen with LED backlighting. The system runs on Windows XP Home and uses an Intel Atom Z520 processor, while customers can add an optional GPS receiver or TV tuner. The T101H offers a 10-inch screen and an Atom N270 CPU running the same version of XP as the smaller model but with a keyboard size closer to an average notebook.

On the opposite side of the size spectrum, the M90GF touts an 18.4-inch screen with 1920 by 1200 pixel resolution and two hard drives. The notebook offers five speakers and a subwoofer, driven by a dedicated Yamaha amp and Dolby Home Theater v.2, along with an optical drive that supports Blu-ray. Customers will be able to pick from a variety of Intel Core 2 Duo processors. Four SO-DIMM slots can hold up to 16GB of memory, while the graphics processing is handled by NVIDIA GeForce GT 130M components with 1GB of VRAM.

In the space left beside the keyboard, the company placed a full set of media-player controls including touch-sensitive buttons and sliders along with a jog-wheel. Asus also took full advantage of the extra room below the keyboard, with an enormous trackpad and an integrated fingerprint scanner.

The W90Vn also offers 5.1 channel speakers, with an 18-inch LCD that supports a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels. A variety of Intel Core 2 Duo processors will be available, with three DDR-2 memory slots and two hard drives. Graphics are driven by the NVIDIA GeForce 9800M with 1GB of VRAM.

Asus has not yet announced official pricing and launch dates for the notebooks or tablet netbooks.
