Coladia games for Mac

Coladia has announced Destination: Treasure Island and Cleopatra: a Queens Destiny, two new point-and -click adventure games for the Mac OS X and iPhone. In Treasure Island, players take control of Jim Hawkins four years after the adventure recounted in Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel. Jim receives a message from Long John’s parrot, Captain Flint, stating that he has buried a treasure on Emerald Island, where he retired, and needs Jim to get there before enemy pirates arrive first.

In Queens Destiny, users play as Thomas, an astrologist and astronomist apprentice who has fallen in love with his master Akkod's daughter. When both his master and the daughter are kidnapped by an opposing army, Thomas has to find some ancient tablets for Cleopatra and finish Akkod's work, in order to get the Queens help in finding them.

Treasure Island is said to be released sometime in February, with the iPhone version not due until Q1 2009. A Queens Destiny is scheduled for launch during Q2 of 2009 for both the Mac and iPhone. (Pricing was not available.)

    (sigh) male bias again

When I first saw this I was excited because I thought the Cleopatra game had you (the player) playing as Cleopatra. Great, I thought. A female hero, and a non-Caucasian one at that. But no, you play "Thomas", a male character. (And since when is Thomas an Egyptian name?) When will game designers realize that by ignoring 50% of the potential market they're decreasing their potential profits as well?

    I agree 100% mail bias

I felt exactly the same way. I was disappointed to find that the lead in both games was male- especially Cleopatra! I have 3 daughters at home and it would seem silly for them to play the part of the male character. This is very frustrating!!!
