Transcriva 2.0 gives speed control, playback options
Bartas Technologies has launched the latest version of its transcription tool for the Mac, Transcriva 2.0. Designed to help transcribe audio and video clips, users simply drag a media clip into the library, press play, and begin typing. Features of the software include controls for adjusting the speed of media without affecting pitch, folders within transcript libraries, a recording function and customizable keyboard shortcuts. Transcriva also enables the export of transcripts as rich text or Word documents, and can associate entries with the people who spoke them.
Lastly, a "follow-along" tool lets users play back transcripts after their completion. During such a session, the transcript view highlights an entry as it is being spoken.
Transcriva 2.0 is priced at $30 for new users, and requires Mac OS X 10.5 along with QuickTime 7. Discounts are available for owners of previous versions.
