Autodesk releases Toxik, Mudbox, Stitcher for Mac

Autodesk has released Mac OS X versions of its 2D and 3D design software Toxik, Mudbox and Autodesk ImageModeler. Company officials tell MacNN the Mac is making great gains in the creative community, spurring demand for more titles to complement its venerable 3D Modeling software Maya and photo-panorama creator Stitcher Unlimited.

Previously available for Windows only, Toxik digital compositing software is aimed at feature film and broadcast production; it is expected to be released in March. Mudbox 2009 -- a painting, texturing and retouching tool for artists and 3D modelers -- will be released next month. The third new Mac title, Autodesk ImageModeler 2009, generates 3D models from photographs. Due to be released in March, the software is used by architechs, designers, and film producers to create photorealistic models.

Toxic will sell for $3500, Mudbox for $750 and Image Modeler for $1000. All three titles require an Intel-based Mac running Mac OS X Leopard.

I wonder if they ever going to port 3ds Max, their flagship software, for the Mac.
