At the Macworld expo due to kick off tomorrow in San Francisco, CA, NEC Display will demonstrate its newest desktop display for graphics professionals, the 26-inch MultiSync LCD2690WUXi². Based on the existing LCD2690WUXi display, the new monitor has a wider color gamut panel, covering 97.8 percent of the Adobe RGB color spectrum versus the older model's 91 percent, as well as delivering greater blue coverage and brightness uniformity.

The 2690WUXi² sports a 16:10 aspect ratio for a wider workspace and is certified for Specifications for Web Offset Publications (SWOP) software, assuring users achieve accurate soft-proof images. The NEC monitor features an IPS active matrix LCD with 1920x1200 native resolution as well as a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and 320cd/m² brightness. Users have a choice of three connections, including DVI-I, DVI-D and VGA selectable inputs.

The display supports NEC's SpectraView color calibration software and internal programmable 12-bit lookup tables (LUTs). A built-in ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the backlight panel's output to account for changing environment conditions.

The NEC MultiSync LCD2690WUXi² is currently available and is priced at $1,199.
