Wozniak to appear at MW09
Steve Wozniak will be making an appearance at next week's Macworld Expo, an announcement has revealed. The Apple co-founder will not be appearing on behalf of his former company, however, but rather as a member of the board of advisors for Axiotron, builder of the Modbook MacBook conversion. Together with other people in Axiotron, Wozniak will help to unveil new technology at Axiotron's booth, 502, starting at 12PM on January 6th.
The Wozniak appearance comes in a year when Apple's other co-founder, CEO Steve Jobs, has decided to forego a keynote at the expo, and moreover cancel any Apple presence at future Macworlds. The new direction for Apple has triggered a crisis in the Mac industry, particularly for Macworld organizer IDG, which is scrambling to find an alternative structure without one of its primary draws. Observers have noted that in past years, Macworld activity has revolved almost entirely around Jobs' keynote and the official Apple booth.
