Promotions, iLuv i399

In brief: Several companies are still offering a few holiday promotions; Mariner Software is offering a 40 percent discount on all of its software until the year's end, and MacZOT has released a software bundle that is available until January 4th. MacNN has meanwhile posted a review of the iLuv i399, finding that the system looks good but its performance does not quite live up to expectations. A meet-and-greet party has also been announced, open to any Macworld goers in January.

Developers offer discounts

Mariner Software is offering 40 percent off all of its products, including StoryMill, MacGourmet Deluxe, Contour and Montage. The promo lasts until midnight on December 31st, and can be received by using the promo code "CHEERS" at checkout. MacZOT has released a New Year's Software Bundle which includes 11 applications, such as Caboodle, AppZapper, Awaken and Snapshot. The bundle is available for $60, which is over $200 cheaper than buying the programs individually. A portion of each sale will also be donated to Heifer International, a charity that helps sustainable living and ecologically-sound re-development efforts.

iLuv i399 review

MacNN has posted a review of the iLuv i399, finding that it sports stylish looks but sub-par performance. The unit offers a variety of audio input options including a Bluetooth receiver and an iPod dock, but when using the dock, a hiss can be heard through the speakers. The LCD provides a handy display of information, but the other controls all lack lighting, making them hard to see in poor ambient conditions.

Macworld visitors gather to unwind

Macworld goers have all been invited to a meet-and-greet party on January 8th. The Mac Mingle is open to anyone wearing a Macworld badge, and an opportunity for attendees to relax with other Mac fans. The party will take place at Jillian's, located at 101 Fourth St., close to the Moscone Center; it should start at 7PM and run until midnight.
