Apps: Album Artwork Assistant, iThief, Fiwi

  • Album Artwork Assistant 2.1 (Free) uses the internet to find album cover artwork and then adds the information to music files within iTunes. Version 2.1 adds an embedded web browser that can be used to select images directly from web pages. The application also now stores queue contents every time an item is added, deleted or processed and not just when the application quits. [Download - 3.6MB]

  • iThief 1.0 provides an interface for controlling iTunes features from the command line. The program offers controls for play, pause, next, etc. as well as options for rating tracks, adding and removing tags, selecting a playlist, searching for tracks, importing files and more. [Download - 0.4MB]

  • Fiwi 1.8 ($1) is an application that assists with moving files and folders via two symmetrical finder-windows. Version 1.8 includes new icons, better arrangement of windows, proper display of the version number in the menu bar and other bug fixes. [Download - 0.1MB]

  • iArchiver 1.6 ($26) provides tools that can create, open and convert archives using drag-and-drop controls. iArchiver supports a large number of popular archive files including RAR, StuffIt, DMG, ZIP and 7-zip. The 1.6 update can now open encrypted RAR files and provides Spanish and Czech localizations. [Download - 15MB]

  • Search&Replace 1.0 (Free) is a batch-processing application for text files, allowing content to be edited with a single click. It can rename files, delete information or add suffixes and prefixes. [Download - 0.4MB]

    Album Artwork Assistant 2.1 is great, just used it to find album covers for about 30 persistent question marks in my itunes library, and all in super quick time too (no more trawling around music websites to find the pictures - great)

    Highly recommended.
