Samsung i8510M at FCC

The Samsung INNOV8 i8510 smartphone, first spotted earlier this summer sporting an eight-megapixel camera, has recently been approved for sale in North America by the FCC. The current version of the handset features an 850/1900MHz radio, which should support AT&T's 3G data network. Officially called the i8510M, the S60-based device has a 2.8-inch LCD with 320x240 resolution, and should be made available for sale in the first half of 2009.

The i8510M's camera has image stabilization as well as smile- and face-detection features, and can geotag photos using A-GPS. Panoramic shooting is supported, along with 320x240 video at 120fps, or 640x480 video at 30fps. Users can edit the videos they capture on the phone itself.

The phone has 802.11b/g and Bluetooth 2.0 support, and can be had with either 8GB or 16GB of built-in memory, expandable via microSD. A TV output lets owners view their recorded videos on a connected display, and an integrated tilt sensor adjusts the phone's screen and controls depending on the phone's orientation. [via SlashGear]
