Apps: Floola, Find Any File. iLife Dock

  • Floola 4.4 (free) is a utility that allows a user to manage their iPod or Motorola phone. Floola can copy, rename, delete music, videos and photos, add artwork and lyrics, manage playlists and keep podcasts up-to-date. It can also convert files like YouTube videos to a format that is compatible with the designated device. Version 4.4 addresses several bugs dealing with the interface, photos and Google Calendar and also adds a used in playlist feature. [Download - 15.3MB]

  • Find Any File (Free) searches a Macs hard drive for files by name, creation or modification date, size or type and creator code. The application can run as root, finding files that can even be missed by spotlight and also has a hierarchical view of all found items for quicker sorting. [Download - 3.6MB]

  • iLife Dock (Free) is an application designed to help remove dock clutter. It is a small application that can be placed in the dock and allows users quick access to all of the iLife applications. By right clicking on the Dock item users are presented with a list of all the iLife applications. The latest update has added a new dock icon which is a picture of the iLife '08 box.   • Now Playing 1.2 ($15) is a plugin that monitors the current song playing in iTunes and then publishes that information. The song can then be updated in a blog in either a now playing box or a recently played list. The plugin also retrieves the URL of the album image cover art, a link to the Amazon.com product page for the CD and a link to the iTunes Music Store product page. Version 1.2 has added support for Facebook allowing users to use the plugin on their Facebook profiles. [Download - 0.12MB]

  • MyTracks 1.4 (free) allows users relate GPS tracks and the photos taken along those tracks to each other. Users can import the GPS tracks from a GPS device for from a GPX file which are then displayed using Google Maps. Version 1.4 has added the ability to use both Google Maps and Microsoft Live Maps when an active internet connection is available. Users can also now use LoadMyTracks to download tracks from a GPS device directly from the myTracks File menu. [Download - 31.2MB]
