Apple rankings at Amazon
Two Apple-related products performed extremely well at Amazon during the holiday season, the latter company has announced. Tracking orders from November 15th through to December 19th, the online retailer notes that one of the bestselling electronics items was the second-generation iPod touch, specifically in its 8GB capacity rather than 16 or 32GB. Apple's chief competition was split between a 52-inch red Samsung TV, and Acer's Aspire One netbook.
Indirect success came first through Microsoft's Office 2008 for Mac, the Home & Student Edition of which was one of the bestselling pieces of software in the holiday run-up. The 2007 Windows version of Home & Student was also amongst the top three applications; the remaining spot went to Norton's Antivirus 2009. Pixar and Disney, which have a long-running association with Apple by way of Steve Jobs, managed to take the top position in DVD sales with Wall-E.
