Mac Giving Tree
In brief: MacNN has recently reviewed Rage Software's WebCrusher web-optimization tool and found it to be well documented and simple to use. Meanwhile, MacHeist has announced that the 2008 Mac Giving Tree is now up and running and visitors can get free Mac applications as a special Christmas present. Synium Software has also announced that it will offer a special 50 percent discount to customers making purchases on the 24th or 25th of December.
MacNN has taken a look at WebCrusher, a program that is designed to reduce website load-times. The software scans entire websites, including both files and images, then removes any unneeded code and compresses large files or images. The application includes a very useful manual and was overall an easy application to use. The only issue our reviewers ran into was a difficulty when editing pages that had been optimized.
MacHeist has now launched the 2008 Mac Giving Tree which offers free software gifts for Mac users across the globe. Visitors can download Enigmo 2 and Wincent's iTunes utility, Synergy, after signing up at no cost. Those enroll will also be able to access four additional gifts to be unwrapped on Christmas day. The tree has also started "growing" free iPhone apps, offering US visitors an opportunity to win promotional codes for App Store applications from over forty partnering developers, with titles such as Fieldrunners, Touchgrind, Moto Chaser and many more.
Synium Software has announced a special gift discount that will last through December 24th and 25th. By using the coupon code "MFTXMAS08" users can get MacFamilyTree 5.3 for 50 percent off, while the coupon code "XMAS08" will apply the same discount to CleanApp 3, Screenium, iFinance 3, or NoteMind.
