iGo to intro green product

iGo, manufacturer of chargers for numerous devices, including notebooks and other portable consumer electronics, announced on Tuesday it will unveil seven new products at its first visit to the CES expo in January. Among the new product reveals will be the first green laptop charger that will use up 80 percent less standby power compared to standard power products. Also part of the Green Technology products, the iGo Surge Protector will be debuted, with eight outlets that have shut-off and recovery functions to reduce standby power. An iGo Wall Outlet with the same functions rounds out the new Green line of products.

Other new products unveiled will consist of iGo's netbook chargers for travel and home or office use that can power a netbook and another device at the same time. A premium accessory line will include an international travel adapter that is compatible with wall plugs in more than 150 countries and includes a USB connection. The iGo 39-in-1 multi-card reader is capable of reading nearly all memory card formats out there in addition to a USB connection and native microSD slot. Finally, the iGo laptop cleaning kit includes six tools that help users clean their notebook PCs and other devices.

    No Apple support

...but since Apple won't license the magnetic power plugs to anyone, this iGo, like the iGo I bought for my Powerbook is useless for the current set of Apple laptops. Come on Apple!
