iPhone 3G Jordan launch
The iPhone 3G has launched in Jordan, available exclusively from wireless carrier Orange, according to SaudiMac. The device is sold with a one-year contract commitment, with various pricing depending on the chosen plan. Customers looking for the lowest phone cost can choose the iDiamond 2000 package which includes 2GB of data usage and offers the 8GB model for 160JD (~$225USD) or the 16GB variant for 230JD (~$322USD). The phones currently lack full support for Arabic, while Jordan is not yet listed on the App Store country list.
Jordan is the second Arabic-speaking country to receive the iPhone 3G, following the November launch in Egypt. The next location on the list is Qatar, although a formal release date has not yet been announced.

Arabis Support and RTL
It's really silly that Apple doesn't allow fonts to be loaded onto the iPhone. At least they should some basic RTL fonts on the iPhone. I receive many emails from friends that I cannot read on my iPhone. And when you think about it, it's just Mac OS X; what's the problem with extra fonts?
It's true that most Jordanians and Egyptians speak French or English, but nevertheless, the option should be there. RTL support can be implemented much easier than Japanese or Chinese (not against either of those).
Apple continues to disappoint me with arbitrary limitations on the iPhone, even when there are no economical or political reasons for such limitation.
