Typinator 3.3 ships
Ergonis Software has released Typinator 3.3, adding predefined snippets and set-specific options to its auto-typing software. The predefined sets include subscript and superscript characters, and arrive with auto-correction dictionaries for both US and British English. The sets include 10 predefined abbreviation sets, covering three languages, HTML coding, FileMaker development and more. Set-specific options include prefixes and suffixes for abbreviations, separate expansion sounds, and notes for each set. Version 3.3 also adds increased compatibility with Adobe's Acrobat and various other improvements and fixes.
Typinator allows users to type short character references to place text snippets, URLs, dates, unique characters and graphics automatically. A few typed characters can become items like a specific customer service response, or a signature image in an e-mail. The software also auto-corrects typos.
Typinator 3.3 requires Mac OS X 10.4, though Mac OS X 10.5 or higher is recommended. The software costs €20 (about $29) for a single-user license.
