Kodak 7.6-inch OLED frame

Kodak's 7.6-inch organic LED (LED) digital photo frame introduced back in September is now available for purchase at Amazon, priced at a heady $1,000. The widescreen frame combines a resolution of 800x480 with an HDTV-like 30,000:1 contrast ratio. The new technology also allows a full 180-degree viewing angle both horizontally and vertically.

The photo frame has integrated Wi-Fi capabilities for wireless access to locally-stored photos and videos, or can access Internet-based photo sharing services including Kodak's own Gallery site along with Flickr and FrameChannel. Built-in software will allow users to quickly access news headlines and sports info, among other applications. On-board storage is fixed at 2GB. An SD card slot allows for expansion, and users can connect USB or mini USB devices, as well as external speakers and a microphone to Kodak's OLED frame. [via Compaholics]

    aspect ration?

    I can accept OLED is a new, and therefore expensive technology. But what I can not understand is why Kodak insists on developing 16:9 aspect ratio frames when almost all still cameras take pictures at 4:3 and 3:2 aspect ratios.

    don't buy

    As an owner of a Kodak picture frame, the Wifi feature is useless for Mac owners, as they only pull pictures from Windows machines. And if you use Kodak's picture website, they tell you it's free, but only if you keep buying some overpriced Kodak merchandise directly from them all the time.
