Highbrow for Mac

Helium Foot Software has announced Highbrow, a browser management utility for Macs. Allowing users to switch between web browsers at a whim, the program presents three main options: choosing a preferred browser, the most recently-opened one, or manual selection. Highbrow provides a small menu on the Menu Bar that enables users to simply click on a browser of choice and surf the web, without having to adjust preferences in an individual browser.

When using the preferred browser setting, the program works like a Mac normally does and only opens up windows with the specified web browser. On switching to the most recently-opened browser setting, people can change browsers whenever needed and the software will automatically open any new windows in the latest choice. For the manual option, a small box will pop up whenever starting a new window, asking the user to pick which browser they would prefer.

Highbrow is compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 or higher, and costs $12. A free 21-day demo available from the Helium Foot website.
