ProteMac Meter update 2.0
ProteMac has announced ProteMac Meter 2.0, the latest version of its network-traffic logging software that allows users to monitor all Internet and network activity. The update offers a new engine, improved stability, enhanced data-cleanup interface, additional preferences for the application monitoring lists, and several bug fixes. ProteMac allows users to simultaneously keep track of all incoming and outgoing traffic on multiple network-connection interfaces.
A stopwatch function can be used to time downloads and calculate average transfer rates. Users can also set alarms that will sound if the bandwidth or time limits have been exceeded by a particular application, or if a desired traffic volume has been reached. The data can be monitored in real-time, or each individual session can be logged at specific start and stop times. The program also reports information from each specific application, such as total transferred bytes and average speed.
ProteMac Meter 2.0 requires Mac OS X 10.4 or higher, and is available for $30 with a single-user license. A free trial version can also be downloaded directly from the company.
