Mailplane 2.0 adds new shortcuts, notifications

updated 05:40 pm EST, Wed December 10, 2008

Mailplane update

Uncomplex has launched Mailplane 2.0, an update to its Gmail client for Mac. The latest version includes new add-ons, key shortcuts, advanced account notifications, a “do not disturb” mode and a simpler way to add attachments. The update also allows switching from multiple accounts without having to sign-in and sign-out repeatedly, and adds a Mailplane URL function that can be used to access searches and conversations from applications.

When using the drag-and-drop feature, users can place files or images on the application icon or Mailplane window to create and upload attachments. The software can be configured to play certain sounds or display the number of unread messages on the icon, account drawer and status menu item.

Mailplane 2.0 is compatible with Mac OS X 10.4.11 or higher and is priced at $25 for a single user license. A family option for up to five computers can be purchased for $40.
