MacBook updates
Apple has released firmware updates for the most recent MacBook, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air models. An EFI update is available for each notebook, offering improved stability and bug fixes, although the exact reasons for the release remain unclear. Users can also download an SMC update which is claimed to improve the sensing and accuracy of the MagSafe adapter indicator light on all models, along with the battery charge indicator lights on the MacBook and MacBook Pro.
Many users of the new MacBooks had reported problems with the glass trackpads, an issue that was addressed with previous firmware updates. More recent reports suggest that a number of systems suffer from crashes related to expanded RAM, although it is unknown if the latest updates are designed to alleviate the problems.
The December 10th EFI and SMC MacBook updates can be downloaded from Apple's support page.

Sleep power drain
I'm really hoping that one of these 2 updates will cure the problem I have been having where the macbook will drain an unusually large amount of power while it is in sleep mode.
If I fully charge the notebook and then unplug it for the night by the next morning it's down to about 70% charge. No USB devices were plugged in during that time.
I guess I will know soon enough. I'll do these updates, charge it up and then unplug for the night. In the morning I will know if the high power drain in sleep mode is gone.
