Office for Mac updates
Microsoft has released updates to its Office 2004 and Office 2008 software for Mac. Office 2004 11.5.3 is claimed to offer enhanced stability and performance. A bug has been fixed that had previously caused the program to quit unexpectedly when a document was opened. Several vulnerabilities have also been addressed, now preventing an attacker from crafting a malicious Word, Excel or RTF file that could be used to take complete control of a victim's computer.
Office 2008 12.1.5 is also claimed to offer improved speed and stability, along with several security enhancements. The update offers better typing performance in Excel and Powerpoint when documents from a network share or shared folder appear in the recently used files list.
Office 2004 11.5.3 is available as a 15MB download, while the Office 2008 12.1.5 update requires a 104MB download.

After how long have we been waiting for these? I never upgraded to 2008 after all the problems I head about it. So does anyone have any luck with the updates?

This Update Rocks! it launches much faster and I don't have to wait for the 15 second Cursor of death, before I can use it again! For those who don't know what I'm talking about, Office used to launch and Word would appear, but the cursor would pause it's blinking for like 10-15 seconds while Word was "still opening" in the background, and you couldn't do anything until it finished. Now it opens faster and you can use it right away. This is where it should have been the first time!

Still painful issues

It's still buggy as h***. If you use Spaces, don't even bother. It randomly resizes document windows (Word is especially bad), and it's possible to get a document in a different Space than its toolbox. That when things start to go really bad. You'll click on an open document, and it will bounce you to another Space. You go back and it does it again & again. Frustrating.
