iPhone hits no. 3 in TIME

The iPhone has fallen two spots in TIME Magazine's annual Top 10 Gadgets rankings, the latest issue reveals. Having taken the top position in 2007, the iPhone now sits in third for 2008, in its second incarnation as the iPhone 3G. The magazine praises the phone for having "launched the era of mobile computing," with over 10,000 applications available, linked to features such as on-board GPS.

TIME criticizes the iPhone, however, as being no better than most cellphones in terms of actual telephony, and unable to handle e-mail as well as the lowest-end BlackBerry. Taking the iPhone's former position is an iPhone and iPod-related accessory, the Optoma Pico PK-101 projector; in second is Mitsubishi's 65-inch LaserVue TV, the world's first commercial laser TV set.

    Good #1

Of course the iPhone is great, but I totally agree with their #1 pick. Those Pico projectors are amazing.

No Apple sightings in their other Top Lists? They must be crazy! How can "Obama mit MBP NOT be the top Election Photo?

    iPod Touch

if the iPhone is anything like the iPod Touch, it's a transformative product that deserves gadget of the year several years in a row. I mean the iPod touch is incredible, with all the apps you can download, but can it take pictures? No. Does it have bluetooth? No. Can you make phone calls on it? No. And STILL it's a better iTunes remote control than the Mitsubishi laser TV.

    Wrong slant

The lead for this article is all wrong. And stupid. Just my opinion. :-)

Apple iPhone. In Time's Top Gadget TOP 3.... Two years in a row.!!!!!!!

Name another gadget that hit the top three two years in a row?????? See, its all in the push.

Slant journalism! Making money one primped lead at a time. :-(

    Just a thought.
